Most people know what a will is: a document that you execute which states who gets your stuff when you die. But it also contains more important information like who will take care of your minor children if you no longer can. You can also leave money to a charity through a will or make sure someone does or doesn’t inherit from you. Most people will benefit from having a will (or a revocable living trust). And remember, once you turn 18, you have an estate plan – either one that you create yourself, or one the state has already planned for you.
